I will play Hamlet in the fall. I am already obsessing…

I probably wouldn’t even know what to say to him. He’s a brilliant musician, lyricist, and personality. I’ve written scads of scenes to his songs—I suppose I’d start by thanking him. He’s such a conversationalist as well…judging by his live persona. One of the few people I will never tire of seeing in concert.

I’m sure he wouldn’t want me admiring him, but I do nonetheless. His music and lyrics are amazing—true genius. I don’t think I’ve ever been so moved by music. I listen to Let’s Not Shit Ourselves again and again. His art inspires me to create my art…and that ability is something I hope to achieve one day.

She inspired me to write—and to write well. Art and Lies and The Passion remain on my list of life-altering books. I can only aspire to be as brilliant an artist as she is. “What you risk reveals what you value.”
